This book is no comic with a long continous story
but a cartoon album. It presents my best gags
about “man, woman, bees, flowers”
from my cartoon series VERFLIXT, which has been
running for several years e.g. in the Saarbrücker
Zeitung and at comicgate.de. Everything drawn
anew from scratch and in colour. My first hardcover
book. Yeah!

“sag was” is the story of Felix and
Sophie who try to be happy together. It speaks
of the beauty behind planning big and also of
the difficulties of turning such plans into reality.

Radio O. is the weard, gaudy, loud, over-the-top
story of the hip radio chat-show host Uncle Erika,
whose programme is being called up by the craziest
people who want to tell the stories of their lives.
Unfortunately, they can’t get a word in
edgewise. Finally an aeroplane falls into the
radio station. Good fun!

This was my first professionally published comic.
A parody of the classic Goethe subject, transporting
its plot and people (Faust, the devil, Gretchen
etc.) into the present. No verse, just prose.
There was a second edition, and plans are in the
making for an animated film version of it.

Eckart Breitschuh and I published an adaptation
of the fairy tale “The three feathers”
by the Grimm brothers. This verbatim, atmospheric,
mature version of the original text reveals how
much more there is to discover in our fairy tales
than is recognizable at first sight. I drew the
story, Eckart Breitschuh did the commentaries.

Another cartoon album about relationships. But
this one is pretty small and doesn’t cost
the world, contains completely different gags
than “VERFLIXT! - ...und jetzt?”,
and it comes in a handy format, so it can easily
be sent as a letter to his or her sweetheart.

These days I have been working on a new comic,
which like „held“ and „sag
was“ will become a longer story again.
I am planning for 144 pages.
But we will see how many it will have eventually,
as it is still in the making. “Girls”
deals with a summer love set in Berlin, with
photography and diving platforms, with charity
news and chocolate cake, with the beyond, women
and the eternal question “Who am I?”
Planned date of publication: Autumn 2006.
